First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 23.3%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Nacogdoches sits at 330.2 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
