Studio apartments in Nacogdoches -options?

So, Been living here since 2008. The median home value here is around $173,200, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs?

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Downtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
