Pros and cons of Nashville after 8 years
Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $698/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
