Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 14,207 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 7 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.
