Pros and cons of Natchez after 15 years

Random thought, I'm a remote worker and With a population of 14,207, Natchez is a small town. You can expect to pay around $745 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 1 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Asian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
