Not sure if this has been asked before, but Poverty rate is 6.0%, which is pretty low. Should I be concerned?

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 37, moved here 14 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited shopping options
3. The walkability situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Westside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The healthcare scene is decent
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Portland about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is average.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
