Rent in New Brighton getting crazy

Longtime lurker here, Household incomes average around $87,272 in New Brighton. Median household income is $87,272, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,327 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Baltimore about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.
