Freelancing from New Plymouth -experience?

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Median household income is $59,875, which feels about average for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is solid in most areas.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Midtown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

I work in consulting here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is improving. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
