What's it really like living in New Richmond?

My partner and I are The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 8 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've lived in Eastside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
