Is Nipomo still affordable?

Hey folks, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $102,382 in Nipomo. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The traffic scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is improving in most areas.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- The safety scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
