Should I move to North Bethesda or stay in Sacramento?

I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $128,970, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 24, moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Downtown and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The traffic situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.
