Curious what people think. I work in education and The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? Thanks for reading.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much stable but now it's improving.
