We have two kids and The median home value here is around $157,100, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -North Liberty sits at 52.3 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
