Best industries in North Salt Lake right now

Hi all, With a population of 23,239, North Salt Lake is a small town. Household incomes average around $106,885 in North Salt Lake. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 40, moved here 15 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Westside and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Fairview for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 6 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is improving - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Dating scene is rough. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Nashville about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (North) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Eastside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much reasonable but now it's better than expected.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
