Housing market in North Salt Lake right now

My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 23,239, North Salt Lake is a small town. Rent is about $1,613/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Uptown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The pet-friendliness is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
