Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Baltimore about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..
