Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 7,967, North Weeki Wachee is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Does this match your experience? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor recreation is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- The nightlife scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to New York it's improving.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
