Rent in Northport getting crazy

Median household income is $141,378, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Mexican places. it was the best decision I ever made.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
