Norton Shores job market vs Boston

So, I'm a 23-year-old HR manager and Crime rate is something to consider -Norton Shores sits at 149.8 per 100K. Rent is about $1,286/month for a decent place. With a population of 25,000, Norton Shores is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Old Town for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
