I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $98,709 in Norwalk. Median household income is $98,709, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $616,600, which is pretty steep. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Norwalk? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's pretty good.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The weather scene is decent
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I work in real estate here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
