Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 24,396 people. Household incomes average around $72,041 in Oak Harbor. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Springfield for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- The safety scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Chicago it's improving.
