Curious what people think. Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $325,600 on average. Household incomes average around $56,160 in Ocean City. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. TIA! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Pittsburgh it's better than expected.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Downtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is decent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
