Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The community vibe is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Diego about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 31, moved here 7 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Fairview and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The housing market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. solid vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
