First post here. We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,670/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $719,100 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 3 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
