Anyone regret moving to Opelousas?

I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $36,260, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a a small town city with about 15,662 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
