Cost of living reality check -Opelousas

OK so Household incomes average around $36,260 in Opelousas. Homes are going for about $113,000 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this?

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
