What's it really like living in Otis Orchards-East Farms?

Longtime lurker here, It's a a small town city with about 5,486 people. Rent is about $1,322/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
