Random thought, Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is decent in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in North area are average. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
