Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Coast sits at 170.4 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. Any help is appreciated. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Sunset for 10 years. Moved from Chicago for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The school system scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
