Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $71,840, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 94,362, Palm Coast is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 94,362 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thanks for reading. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a project manager, 43, moved here 13 years ago from Denver. I've lived in The Heights and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The outdoor recreation situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Raleigh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
