Why I chose Palm Coast over bigger cities
Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Coast sits at 170.4 per 100K. Homes are going for about $317,200 on average. With a population of 94,362, Palm Coast is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $71,840 in Palm Coast. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Sprawl everywhere
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
Thoughts? Any help is appreciated. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
