Best industries in Palm Harbor right now

Hello, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,733 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Harbor sits at 442.3 per 100K. Rent is about $1,733/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $359,600 on average. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'm a nurse and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 39, moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Pine Hills and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The housing market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Baltimore it's underrated.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Springfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
