Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and The median home value here is around $216,600, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 7,447, Palmyra is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Does this match your experience?

I've lived in Eastside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- The weather scene is decent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
