Best neighborhoods in Pana

Hey everyone, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $670 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Pana sits at 175.3 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 58, moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in The Heights and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The job market situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for families. average vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Phoenix it's solid.
