Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider -Panama City sits at 612.9 per 100K. With a population of 34,211, Panama City is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $243,200 on average. Rent is about $1,334/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is average in most areas.
