Unpopular opinion about Park Forest

So, It's a a small town city with about 20,898 people. Rent is about $1,341/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'm a teacher and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.
