I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. With a population of 45,079, Pearl City is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.
