Moving to Pemberton Heights with kids -good idea?

I'm a college student here and Rent is about $989/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 2,643 people. The weather takes some getting used to. Does this match your experience? Thanks in advance!

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Chicago it's hit or miss.
