Alright, Been living here since 2010. Rent is about $1,623/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in consulting here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is excellent. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Springfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a data analyst and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Dallas it's better than expected.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much pricey but now it's better than expected.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..
