Working in Pickerington -salaries realistic?

First post here. Been living here since 2005. Rent is about $1,598/month for a decent place. With a population of 23,828, Pickerington is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What are your go-to spots? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great BBQ places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Came here for family and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The dating scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
