Freelancing from Piñon Hills -experience?

Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 7,149 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much competitive but now it's improving.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
