Life in Pleasant Prairie as a young professional

Anyone else feel this way? Been living here since 2007. The median home value here is around $336,300, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Pleasant Prairie sits at 61.7 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to New York it's better than expected.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
