Starting a business in Pleasant Prairie?

Longtime lurker here, I've been here for 12 years and Median household income is $103,903, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $336,300 on average. The median home value here is around $336,300, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,446/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Chicago about 3 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Moved here from Denver about 14 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to housing market but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 11 years. Moved from LA for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited high-paying job options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
