Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Rent is about $861/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $240,600, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Riverside for 7 years. Moved from Chicago for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2018 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for work and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The nightlife is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
