Alright, Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $57,931 in Pocatello. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Any advice would be great.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
