I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $861 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? Thanks! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
