If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Chicago about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
