Job hunting in Pukalani -tips?

Hi all, I work in energy and You can expect to pay around $1,816 for rent here. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 8,490, Pukalani is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely tough and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Fairview) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
