Hey, Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Thanks!

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Chicago about 4 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The food scene is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
