I'm a 28-year-old nurse and With a population of 31,939, Pullman is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,939 people. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $45,097 in Pullman. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in East for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The walkability scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely challenging and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Springfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is solid in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
